Process Transfer Chemist

Seeking three candidates, one on managerial level and two PhD chemists on more junior level.


General Responsibilities:
Ability to maintain positive attendance record.

Requirements:
Responsibilities Specific to Position:
To facilitate projects transfers/scale up from kilo labs into pilot plants.

All positions are hands on and would require candidate to be responsible for optimization of a process on kilo labs scale a safe/reliable transfer to reactors.

The manager in addition to his daily activities will responsible for establishing a fully integrated process transfer team. The team will be assisted by R&D chemist and by pilot plant operators.

Candidates will have PhD. in synthetic organic chemistry and at least three years of experience in Process R&D both on Kilo lab and/or plant scale.

Practical knowledge of reactor scale issues such heat and mass transfer, agitation, filtration, drying, etc. is a must.

Must be able to perform analytical tests, be computer literate with good written and verbal skills.

Additional knowledge of reaction calorimetry is a plus; CGMP also a plus.

Must be able to work flexible hours.

Salary dependent on experience and level of previous employment.

• Able to recognize, avoid, and solve commonly encountered scale up issues
• Available to work flexible hours to support the processes
• Capable to perform analytical tests to support the process control, i.e. Gas chromatography(GC), HPLC, and NMR, (eg. In-process checks)
• Good documentation skills to communicate internally and externally in a verbal or written manner
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office products (eg. report writing, client updates)
• Experience in a CGMP facility in the manufacture of API’s is a plus
• Able to work within a team environment and lead a group of all educational levels

Senior Project Manager

Cambridge Major Labs, a leading chemistry service provider, is seeking an individual to perform high level Project Management duties in support of its growing contract chemistry business. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating all technical updates and reports between CML’s Ph.D. scientists and the client to ensure that all technical communications flow at an optimal, and highly professional level. The candidate must have excellent client communication and organizational skills, be fluent in English, and must interact well with all functions of the organization including chemistry, analytical, QA, and plant.

 

Requirements:
Candidates for consideration must possess a Ph.D. in chemistry, at least 2-5 years of bench and/or project management experience, preferably in a cGMP contract facility, and must be conversant in MS Office.

Manager Kilogram Lab

Seeking one candidate on managerial level.

 

General Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating project timelines and communicating these verbally, in writing, and in gantt chart format using for instance Microsoft Project. A fundamental understanding of all aspects of client projects to ensure client communication flows at an optimal and highly professional level is required. This includes understanding Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient project flow including procurement, chemistry, analysis, and quality assurance. The candidate must have excellent client communication and organizational skills, be fluent in English, and must interact well with all functions of the organization.
The manager in addition to his daily activities will have responsibility for establishing a flexible kg-lab team (including partial setting up the kilogram lab equipment as is needed).

 

Requirements:
Responsibilities Specific to Position:
To manage the development of projects (multiple at the same time)  for the kilogram lab.
Potentially these projects can be transfers/scale up from kilo labs into pilot plant reactors (if applicable).

The position is partially hands on and would require candidate to be responsible for (team) optimization of a process up to kilo lab scale level in a safe/reliable way.

 

Candidates will have University education or PhD. in synthetic organic chemistry and at least several years of relevant experience (preferably in Process R&D both on Kilo lab and/or plant scale).

Chemical Analyst

Cambridge Major Laboratories (CML) is  a young and dynamic company with ample opportunity for growth in a challenging and versatile environment. For our Quality Control (QC) department we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated chemical analyst to be involved in all aspects of QC work.

 

Responsibilities:

The analyst’s primary responsibility will be the independent development, validation, and implementation of chemical analyses using various methods - mainly gas and liquid chromatography for supporting our development and manufacturing departments, as well as our stability-testing programs.

 

Additional responsibilities will include redacting and maintaining documentation in accordance with our quality system, as well as developing new applications in the fields of analyses and quality based on USP, EP, and ICH guidelines. As a member of our QC team the analyst will be jointly responsible for performing all routine tasks assigned to our QC laboratory.

 

Qualifications:

 

A Bachelor's Degree or better in Analytical Chemistry.

The ability to work independently, accurately, and systematically using advanced analytical equipment, with a good command of the required techniques.

 

Experience with chromatographic techniques is preferred.

 

Experience with fine chemistry and working in a GMP/GLP environment is preferred.

 

Good written and oral communication skills in Dutch and English.

 

The ability to work either as part of a team or independently, and have good social skills.

 

Be prepared to work outside regular business hours when the need arises.
